In my most humble opinion, AOHell is best improved by going to another service provider and using Microsoft Outlook for your email.

You'll most likely get off cheaper with better service. Any decent provider won't garbage up your screen with promotions and popups.

That's just my mostly humble opinion.

On Tuesday, June 21st at around 1:00 AM Eastern, the server support team made a change to the Apache html server configuration. Since then, it has been absolutely flying high here.

Mark, call AOLHELL technical support and ask them what THEIR problem is.

I had been having problems with the Smokstak page only for a couple weeks. At Harry's advice I contacted AOL about their DNS problem (which they didn't seem the least bit interested in hearing).
I've had no problems the last few days.

Don't forget...once you are online with your AOL service you can still use Internet Explorer outside of AOL. You may be able to bypass the problem that way.

Neale:

You can do that but the best bet is to go to an entirely different ISP and use your Microsloth Explorer and Outlook. Cheaper and -at least- as fast!

IF you are running Windows XP get SP2 which includes, not only, a firewall (of sorts but STILL better than NONE) and a TERRIFIC popup blocker.
If it gives you the fits you can uninstall it.
While you are at it get the BEST free antispyware AND application protection FREE from Micro$oft:

I am running xp and went through down loading the service pack 2 and works good except my mom reinstalled internet explorer outlook mail thing and claims she uses it. I still use internet explorer every once and a while but i am in the process of dumping it out of my computer and using the other program as the primary internet access program. If you would like to know the other program i am using you can email me and i'll get you the link

Ugh! Try Eudora (from Qualcomm - it's a free download) and you'll wonder how Outlook Depress ever sells at all (A: it doesn't, it's bundled - it should be bundled alright...)

Remember, the only reason we are/were using DOS and Windows is that when IBM went looking for an operating system for their PC, the guy with the best program was up flying around in his plane; so they went and saw Bill instead and bought his DOS. That's how history happens.
