Default Noisy 1 1/2 HP Fairbanks Headless

I have a Fairbanks Headless with a noisy govenor weight. With the spring tension set to run slow the weight hits the flywheel hub with every revolution making a continous noise. I have tried placing various amounts of tape etc for the weight to land on which has improved some, but still noisy. I have heard some run at shows that were quite. Any ideas??
Thanks Joe

Try gluing a piece of thick rubber like a piece of pencil eraser or something like that to the gov weight where it hits the flywheel. I did that on one of my engines and it really helped. but then it came unstuck and I havent had chance to replace it yet.

Thanks Frank & Steve,

I will try sticking something on the flywheel again and see if I can get it to stay on this time. If that does not work the next thing I was going to try was to pull the flywheel, cut a small piece of something like a radiator hose with a good tight fit, slip that on the hub and see what that would do.

Thanks again,
Joe
