Photo tonights great find :D

Got a call this afternoon from a couple that wanted to sell some of their engines that they had collected over the years but haven't been doing anything with for several years and not knowing what was there I hooked up the trailer right after work and headed right out to their place to see what they had. These may not be what you call barn fresh or out of the woods but they been out of the show circuit a long time and I'm glad to get them. Here's a couple of the one's I got tonight.

Anybody know what the HP is for the Fluted Hopper Aeromotor? It has 4 in. bore and 24 in flywheels.

Thanks

That style Aermotor only came in 2-1/2 and 5 HP sizes, so it's got to be one or the other. Sorry I can't give you a more definite answer.

Tom: calculate the hp...
HP=Torque x RPM / 5252
Torque= HP x 5252 / RPM
HP (with out torque) = Volume (of cylinder) x RPM / 13,400 (for a 4 cycle)
HP (with out torque) = Volume (of cylinder) x RPM / 10,000 (for a 2 cycle)

This is "Rated HP"...due to mechanical efficancy the real HP is roughly 80% on a well designed engine-

hope this helps
