Default R&V MAG INFOMATION NEEDED

I have a 2hp R & V Triumph with the upside down wizard mag on it.I am missing the mag trip parts that mount on the push rod.Does anyone have a picture of what the trip looks like or information I can get dimensions from? I thought it used the same trip as used for the ignitor, but this doesn't work right.

Hi Sam. I have only ever seen the Wizard magnetos working on the flat pushrod L Line and R Line engines. I don't think there is a trip to fit one on a round pushrod engine.

The ignitor bracket will fit as R&V used the same hole and bolt spacing for all the Triumph Line engines. The R Line engines were built with the flat pushrod and the few L Line engines with the Wizards fitted had a special flat pushrod made for them (as the R Line one will not fit). None of the parts books or manuals show the Wizard with a round pusrod. It could be made to work with a round pushrod but a trip will have to especially made and getting the alignment right may be a problem.

Hi John. That is the pre-Triumph Line pushrod R&V ignitor and trip. The one for the Triumph Line with the round pushrod looks like this:

I have some pictures of R& V's taken at shows with this mag setup on the round pushrod. Here are some pictures so I think these mags were used on the round rods.

Thanks for the pics Sam. I will dig further into the books and see if there is a picture of the trip anywhere. Perhaps Wizard offered the setup as a kit (like Webster often did). The only details I have for the Wizard trip is for the square pushrod trip.
