Havvey,
As Dick Graybill suggested try Harry's Old Engine site: http://www.old-engine.com/fairbnk3.htm
It shows batteries and coil. Hit & Miss sells repro crankguards in fiberglass for around $75, I think. You could pay up to double that on Ebay for an original.

Engines and real estate have a couple of things in common and one of them is: location, location, location!

Maine is quite a distance from Ohio for sure, but take a look at the ad on Engine Ads for the 1-1/2hp Fairbanks posted on July 15.

I think it is a sweet deal on a dishpan and if I lived anywhere closeby, I would add it to my little collection. I am assuming that the cart it is on goes with it and it is a sweetie too!

I've never met Mr. Pyles but don't mind pointing out his advert so's others might be able to do a little comparison shopping. $400 and it has the steel oiler and a battery box ta boot! With those items and the cart, the engine is practically a giveaway. Oh heck, he's probably gonna raise the price now !!

Havvy Dishpans are very common. Offer them 250.00 Then you can start looking for the bat. box. They are hard to come by as is the steel oiler. I made one out of a model T coil box which turned out pretty good and the coil still dropped in just like the original! But I agree with Kid that the one for sale is rather rare especially if the blue is original! and 400.00with cart, steel oiler and the sticker for the mower makes it unusal and a good deal. The only thing I have never seen a battery box like that one?You maybe able to get it and catch someone coming through there that can get it closer to you?BobRR
