Bob,
I think a lot depends on what model it is .... A,B,C, CA or CX. CA & CX seem to be the most common. For some reason Spartas don't seem to bring a very high price for a fairly early engine. Most did not have mags. I have seen them go for $700 to $1000.

I just bought a nice restored 2 hp CX w/ original brass tag for $900. They're not too expensive and I like them a lot better than the regular Economy's. Not too many down south or either people just don't bring them out to shows. I only saw one at Denton. Good Luck!!

Mike

If it is a 1 1/2 HP, it is likely a model CX and made in 1913. There were a few earlier model 1 1/2 HP, but they are few and far between. What is the serial number? The 1 1/2 HP model CX complete and operable will likely trade in the $800 to 1000 area. Stuck, rusty, parts missing, needing repair, etc. drop the price.
