Could be VIRUL or Virus. Do you have a virus scanning program like Norton? I lost half the programs on my computer due to a Trojan virus luckily I was able to get them back with out dumping my hard drive. Good luck

The operating system info that Craig asked for will help others make recommendations, but you should also have some sort of antivirus software running on your PC. Norton, McAfee do paid-for software and there are also free programs on the net.
It used to be fairly easy to keep out of trouble with PC's on the net, but these days you can pick up trouble very easily and must be aware of the problems. Other things you can use: Zone Alarm Pro - PC firewall. Mailwasher Pro - enables you to look at messages and delete them BEFORE you get them on your machine. We run a fairly large home network with 5 machines on ADSL. We use all these items mentioned above, plus we have a USRobotics Router in the system which helps protect against incoming attempts to get into our system. There are various undelete options in most of the programmes running these days, but be careful not to do too much with your hard drive as any new stuff coming in will overwrite parts of your disk that may have your missing items stored. Microsoft also makes updates for its OS's available free on its website, make use of these to keep your system up to date. Windows 95 and 98 are no longer supported with updates, but Win2kPro and XP are. Might be worth a change to a more modern system if you are on the earlier stuff. Peter |

Did you by chance change the view to only show new messages? It's easy to do in outlook express. I've had several customers do this.
