Default Mystery Boat Motor

Greetings,
I acquired this old motor from a gentleman I used to work with when he retired about 12 years ago. It was his fathers.....
Two stroke, water cooled. Water pump is a piston pump driven by an eccentric on the crankshaft so it would pump no matter which way the motor was turning. Ignition is timed by a lever that will allow it to run either direction. He gave me a Model T buzz coil with it. I have never had it running, but don't see why it wouldn't. Has tremendous compression and the brass Schebler carb is all there and (appears) functional. My question is: Who made it? There is no ID tag or any identifying casting marks anywhere on it that I have found.
Thanks,

Here are the only other pictures I have of this motor at the moment. If you want to see any particular part of it in more detail, let me know and I'll take a shot of it. Might take a couple of days for me to actually get it here.....

The photos are just fine Thanks !

This is not an engine I've seen before, I will go through my research material and try to find the manufacturer.

For what it's worth, there is one almost (if not exactly) like it on display at the Maritime Museum in Glen Haven Michigan.

I believe the mfgr of your engine is the "Detroit Auto Marine Co."
It is a very early one and possibly made by their predecessor The " Detroit Lackawanna Co. Goes along with Marks comment of one being in the Michigan maritime museum.

Any information on these two obscure Marine engine mfgrs appreciated !
