Photo What Is a Novo Jr?

What are the characteristics that differentiate a Novo Junior from a regular type S? I’ve a Novo engine that I’ve been working on and it’s a bit different from most of the Novos that I’ve seen. Mainly in the fact that the crankcase does not have the hand hole plate with the Novo Name cast into it. Searching the web I found a site that has photos of a engine that is listed as a 1hp Novo Junior that appears to be simular to mine. Mine has a kero mixer and is throttle governed by limiting the movement of the intake valve. What do I have? A Junior or a Early Type S? Attached is a photo of my engine, although it does not show the base clearly.

Hank,

Go here:

http://www.oldengine.org/docs/Nova_S_data.pdf

Look at page 4 and compare the dimension "E" to yours. If yours is several inches shorter then it is a junior. If your dimension "E" is the same then it is the 1.5hp. Seems like the "C" & "D" dims were smaller than the charted dimensions on my Jr. that I had.
