Photo 6hp Titan in a Ford Ranger!!

A friend came by today and decided he needed a 6hp Titan of mine. We figured the truck could hold it so we put it in there. The little Ranger did a good job with it. There was still some room between the axles the rubber bumpers on the frame. This just goes to show everybody you don't need a big truck for big loads, the shipping weight for this engine according to an IHC catalog is about 2000 lbs. I bet he could have still put a few Maytags in there! Moral of the story is buy a small truck and save money on gas!!!

Yup! That's the kind of thing that keeps my frame & suspension shop busy!! ...Ya'll keep up the good work, 'cause while your haulin' that engine around in that pickup, the looky-loos are lookin' and runnin' into other vehicles and THAT'S what keeps my Body shop busy!
By the way, NICE lookin' engine.

Pulling the load is'nt bad but I shudder to think about those little 10" drums on the rear brakes trying to stop the truck, Pretty scary!!!

I'll stick with my HD series F350. That looks like a real engine man's truck behind the ranger

Save gas money?? You probably have to drive it 40 MPH on the freeway at 3000 RPM.

Reminds me of what my '54 Binder T-100 (1/4 ton) pickup looked like when I had a nice load of firewood on it.

When I thought I had a load, I'd look underneath. If the frame wasn't sitting firmly on the rear axle, I'd load a little more on. It rode so much better when the frame wasn't always banging on the axle.

And, yes, the rubber axle bumpers were long gone.

That little Ford's got it easy!

Take care - Elden

Just because it can be done, does not necessarily make it wise to do it.

Just goes to show how good rangers really are!!!!!!!! The only problem with mine is that the 2.5L engine is a little weak...a 3.0 would be better for me. I would rather tow that load, however.

I had a little FORD Ranger, just like that...2.9 V6, 4-speed w/OD. DAMN good, little truck & the most FUN vehicle to drive, that I EVER had!!! The only problem with it, it was TERRIBLE on snow & ice. I think you may have cured THAT problem!!! NICE engine!!!

I agree with BobRR, you do that here in Michigan and the first thing you'll do is bust those springs and then you'll have her down on the axle real quick. Nice engine, how far did you go with it?
