Default Maytag Serial Numbers

Is there a serial number list for the model 82 Maytags? I can find lists for the model 92s and 72s, but not for the 82s.

I do not believe there is a reliable serial list for the Maytag 82 series. Try the Maytag collecters site: Maytag Collecters Club, maybe they can help

There is no month to month or year to year list like there is for the 92's and twin cylinders, but there is some info. The first 82's came in 1920 in very limited numbers. I have seen 82's with serial numbers down to around 102,000. These were intermixed with the 72 Fruit Jar and the upright engines. According to records the 82 started at 111302 in August of 1923. I think this is probably the date when the upright and the 72(f.j.) was dropped and production was dedicated to the model 82. 11 fin cylinders were used up until serial # 126982. Production ended in August of 27' at serial number 219,611. You kinda have to use an educated guess to determine the exact year.

Thanks for the reply. Any guess as to what year #160XXX would have been made?
