Default off topic tree problem.

got home from work tonight and looking forward to some quality time with my engine projects,
Then there was a loud POP and this limb gave away crazy,
noone hurt but it was full of bees. So I spent the evening cutting it up.
Bad day for the bees too I guess.

I had a bad experience with bees nests and hollow trees. We cut down a tree that was full of them down in the creek, and we did'nt know they were in it......I think you know what happed next . Glad no one was hurt with you though

This looks like justification for two new engines. One with a spray pump for the bees and one with a buzz saw!

Default Re alot of bees's this year

Did the late evening , bee hunting last night with some spray, my wife found a nest with the lawnmower, & she informed me what needed to be done directly when i got home from work yeasterday, the thing is I mark the nest for removal & she ran over the marker (go figure i guess that small wooden stake with red ribbon means run over it) ha. i guess the the lawn mower has a new job (beehog)

Unhappy Re: off topic tree problem.

No trees for bees here, but they certainly like to get under my aluminum siding I have found 4 nest sites in 2 weeks (well my wife found 2 of them, trying to hang laundry). It seems that the bees were rather peturbed at the vibration set off by the clothes line pully mounted on the house. They took out their anger on the creater of the disturbance I was informed in no uncertain terms what had to be done and when! The bees got in last licks though - the day after I sprayed, one must have gotten caught in the hanging laundry, the wife found it about 4 seconds after she put on her blouse that had been out, and about 2 seconds too late. Needless to say, she was not a happy camper that nite! At any rate, there seem to be more bees this year than in years past. Thankfully, we arn't allergic.

Bad year for yellowjackets and baldfaced hornets. I have done the midnight patrol two times this season, both big paper nests, both successful. But today I stepped on a ground nest and got nailed in the eye. As soon as I can see again, there's going to be a major engagement with the perpetrators. Fortunately the cool nights will help with this.
