Paul, that's a serial # of a 1˝ hp type M engine, 650 rpm, kerosene burned and could be have a type "L" low tens mag or an Am.Bosch high tens mag. The year is 1922.

John Thanks for the replay Now we know what year it is It has a horse shoe mag. with a ignitor on it. Found the ignitor houseing is broken an the rod it bent that goes through the ignitor to the points. Will keep you posted how things turn out. Thanks Harry for this wonderful site.

Hit & Miss (one of Harry,s Advertisers), should have a replacement igniter. Chances are that someone rolled the engine over, and the igniter was stuck. There is a lot of leverage in the igniter cam, and although the flywheel resistance to turning may be light, or even nonexiatsat if it was spun over, the thin cast iron igniter frame has no chance. The steel mount rod for the movable point is probably bent too. Make sure the eccentric for the igniter push rod is not cracked.
