Default engine name tag help

I have a sheet metal engine tag that im restoring and it has raised lettering and i have cleaned it up with steel wool and im looking for the black die for the back ground and some ideas .i have used layout die and its to blue .

Not sure what kind of tag you have, but I have redone a few old brass Briggs & Stratton tags just using black spray paint. After it starts to set, but before it gets real hard, I would use a scrap straight edged piece of aluminum (so it wouldn't scratch the tag) and carefully scrape the high spots (the raised bosses with the stamped numbers and the printed text regarding what oil to use) to remove the paint from these while leaving it in the recessed area behind them. After the paint had fully cured I would buff the exposed area (actually the whole tag) and spray it with clear coat to keep the brass from oxidizing.
