Default Just an interesting old engine

Saw this recently on eBay (#7537065275) and thought it was worth sharing. It did sell - for $300. Turns over and is all there (with extra head gaskets hanging on the end). Small ship (large boat?) engine called a "Climax Trustworthy R-BU" - See page 272 BYB under Lamb Boat & Engine CO. Clinton Iowa. According to the listing it was purchased as Navy surplus in '39 to power a feed mill. Has dual ignition with 2 plugs / cylinder.
If anybody knows where this will end up, let me know. I'd like to know if they get it running. It's not the kind of thing a person would buy if they weren't already involved with old engines in some way - Unless it's Bill S's neighbor hoping to do him one better in the lawn ornament competition!

We came across one of these Climax engines in a snow plough (plow) I think it was at the truck museum behind the Auburn/Cord/Duesenberg museum in Auburn. IN.

Pictures are in the recent Portland set, specifically it is here:
