Winch mounts

There have been several good posts recently about winch suggestions. I'd like to get some ideas now on how you all have them mounted. I'd like to put mine on a mount at the front of my trailer where it can be removed easily, but is still very strong. If you can, take some pics of yours.

Here are some pics of how I mounted my winch. I used channel iron that matched the same size as the base of the winch. I need 12" approx. to clear the front rail of the trailer so I used some 12" channel and coped it to fit the top piece. when I had finished the final fit up on the trailer, I tacked it all together and removed it to weld. I used 6, 3/8" bolts to mount the ass'y. The winch came with 4 bolts to mount it so I figured that would be more than strong enough. I tested it for the first time this morning by loading my Case L and it did'nt flex one bit. Brian D.

Thanks Brian, that's just what I'm looking for. Why didn't you weld the assembly to the tongue, instead of bolting it?

I wanted the whole ass'y to be removable. My father uses the trailer for construction and has a large gang box that he mounts on the front and the winch would interfere with it. I took my Case L to a local threshing day this morning and ended up loading and unloading the tractor three times and it worked with no problems. If you end up using this type of mount, let me know if I can help with any more pics or info. Brian.
