Default Need info on Chicago Pneumatic diesel engine

I have an opportunity to purchase a Chicago Pneumatic diesel engine, Type 89CD, 320 hp @ 500 rpm/350hp @ 770 rpm. It is set up with a very large generator, looks completely original, still instllaed in an industrial power plant.
any idea of value, rareness, or any info about these engines or the years made

engine # is 37472

thanks
Dave

We have the American Diesel Engine Catalog of 1949 here, and it shows engines made by The Chicago Pneumatic Co., but does not list your specific engine.

All the engines shown are heavy-duty air-starting in-line diesels, with separate heads and Bendix-Scintilla injection equipment.

The 89CP engine is listed, 8 cylinders, 9" bore by 10.5" stroke, 568hp at 720rpm. 17880 lbs dry weight.

Injection and air-start equipment is behind the covers on the camshaft side of the engine.

Hope this helps,

Peter
