Default Fairbanks 4HP N

heres a picture of a 4hp Fm we have in our collection. Put it in the shop yesterday for some minor work and a new tounge for the cart its an all original engine, dad got it in the 60s and just had to put gass in it. not sure of its age but the last patend date is 1901

Colin, Check the end of the crank shaft. On the "N" models they stampped the date that it was made. Nice engine. Mike

was 6/17/02! was hidden by the pulley. We've seen other engines with that thing- is it for stopping the intake valve from fluttering? this one doesn't have it but it still runs good. bushed down the air intake because its running slow
