Default Found a "rare"? engine

A friend told me of an engine he had out in the woods. When I checked it out I was origanaly more interested in the cart and trucks. Now though after my first checks on the engine there doesn't seem to be much info on it.It is a 4 cyl.over head valve Fero.C.H.Wendel only has a limited amount of info on the 2 cyl.2 cycle marine engine, the 8 cyl.marine and auto engine, and the single cyl.stationary engine.I also found that the Saxon Automobile Co.used this engine in their cars from 1920-1923.Can anyone help with more info, and is it a rare engine? The carb, exhaust manifold, starter, generator, and some of the ignition system are missing. To me it seems a little differant than your average engine,it has only 2 intake ports and 1 exhaust port, plus it is open between the number 2 and 3 cylinders. Thanks too anyone that can help!I will attempt to post some pictures. Sorry I'm being blocked from posting pictures by my computer,as soon as I find out why I'll try again. It's only been doing this since it crashed a couple of weeks ago.
