Default unknown marine engine

we think it is a Caille Debrie(question spelling) may have been made by sears?
flywheel is about 5/8 thick & 10in around, it has a shaft running down from engine about 4ft long with a bronze prop. it has a encectic just before the propeller
when shaft turns it pumps water up to cylinder head, then water comes out top of head ,pipe comes off top of head down about 2 ft back into water i presume, 2 cycle engine, plus their is a lever between flywheel & engine
, we think this is to chance timing & stop engine to run it other direction to back up boat. don't have and way to send pictures yet, but we are working on the expense next. ANY help would be great, my father in law is curious..
p.s. its not a gray marine ,i know what they look like
thanks

Melon, you have a Caille liberty probally around the 1920's era . Go into theAOMCI links and check out Jack Craibs caille site you'll get some more info there.Richard
