Question Re: Did anyone attend the Zettlemoyer Auction in PA yesterday? Results?

Just curious but why did the 1 1/2 IHC M bring so much more than the Associated chore boys? I would have thought it would have been the other way around unless the Associateds were in rough shape and the m was in great original running condition on original trucks & wheels.

if anything was in bad shape, it was the 2 hp new holland. missing alot of parts, was it ever rusted,,,, the hopper walls were rusted so bad, the walls were really thin, i know the n-h are worth big $$$$$,,,there were a couple of bidders on it, the only good part was the rocker arm..hard to beleive the cylinder was in good shape... it had another spare piston, im sure it was worth something,,, but $3100,,, possible the buyer thought the price was $31...i beleive there is another engine nut out there,, engine nut

$3,100 for the New Holland ! I would have never have believed that after seeing the engine.Boy was it rusted.Looks like it sat upside down in the ground for almost it's lifetime. The hopper edges had huge pits in it.Bumpy like a mountain.Maybe I missed something as to why it brought so much ? It would have been nice for someone to buy that couldn't afford to spend a lot for one.Like $500. ? For that kind of money the Simplicity was a good buy for a little less.

Cool Re: Did anyone attend the Zettlemoyer Auction in PA yesterday? Results?

Does anyone remember if the Detroit 2 cycle was a stationary engine or a marine engine? I'm pretty sure Detroit never made a 1-3/4 hp stationary engine. 2hp was the smallest they made in a stationary.

Thank you... John

The Detroit was mounted on skids, and had a seperate cooling tank, about 10 gallon in size. Is it possible that the horespower was listed incorrect?
Also I believe that engine sold for 1550 and not 1100 as posted earlier
