Default good (expensive)trick

G'DAY I work for a company that sells and hires forklifts,we where called out to a truck that had "bit" of a knock, after some questions it was assertained that the owner was washing the truck down with the diesel engine running!,he noticed something on the air intake, you guessed it he washed it with a 1" hose fed by a pressure pump, you cant compress water,it bends conrods instead, true story.
Regards Phillip

The gravel screener we use has the air induction coming from underneath. After a rain, water had puddled under there. My co-worker went to start the engine. No bent rods, but she sure smokes now and goes through oil. He change oil and filters 4 times to clear the gray out of the crankcase. Guess overhaul is in order.
