I picked up a really old Hobart 180 amp stick welder and I was wondering if someone might have an idea how old it may be. It is a model TLF182. To change current settings you plug the electrode cable into different jacks on the front. The internal wiring is all covered with woven fiberglass and there is a 1/4" steel plate attached to the top of the XFMR that exends out of the top of the machine with a 2" hole in it. I assume that this was a lifting point to crane it to higher positions. For only a 180 amp unit this thing weighs a ton.
If anyone has ever seen or heard of a unit like this, let me know. Any info will be appreciated. BTW Despite how old it seems the thing still works great.
