Default Flat Belt

This is a question for the central North Carolina (around Salisbury) guys, does anyone know of a store that sells flat belts in our area? I need a 3" belt to pull a corn sheller. Don't have time to order one unless I can get it real soon (less than a week).

I found rubberized canvas belting at Tractor Supply. Had to find someone to lace it for me.

I also buy belting at Tractor Supply. They sell it for use in round balers. If it's too wide for my needs, I get a straight edge and cut it to the right width with a razor knife.
You can also try to find an industrial supply house in the nearest big city. Most places like that can make up a belt for you while you wait.

You can still get the "old style" brown canvase (tobacco belting) style belt. I know because the gristmill that I used to work at continually got it new and I know a guy that works at the store that sells it. There is a store in Rocky Mount that used to be Haynes Rubber Co, but is now called Lewis-Goetz. They do mostly rubber hydraulic hoses and belting. They sell the belting and boty styles of clips for splicing. Their phone number is 252-44-6151 or 1-800-937-8765 and ask for Danny Skinner. He's my friend and tell him Jeb referred you and you're looking for some old engine belting. I kinda got him hooked in the hobby and he will know exactly what you are talking about. He may even be able to find a scrap piece laying around somewhere that you could get for cheap, but give him a call!
