Default Blue Diamond generator

Hello all
I have a Blue Diamond generator that I got a couple years ago, and
would like to know if anyone has one that could tell me how it is supposed
to be wired. There is a slot on the side of the box on top of the gen. that is stamped,(from top to bottom) HI-CHG-LO, but the switch or whatever is gone and someone wired in a regular off and on wall switch that doesn't do anything when you switch it to off or on.

Blue Diamond was a line made by Pincor (Pioneer Gen-E-Motor Corp Chicago, IL). I have a (very) few diagrams for these. Does your unit have its ID tags? If you can give me the numbers from the generator tag - Model, Voltage, Amps / Watts I might be able to tell you more. This switch should change the 12V charging rate for the starting battery. The original was probably a SPDT with one side going through a resistor to reduce the rate and the other side direct for full output.
Also, just my personal curosity - what engine does it have (make & model)?

John
here is a picture of the ID tag, also a picture of the gen. end, the end bell is missing but I am trying to locate one for it.

Sorry - my book doesn't cover any models under 1KW. That is a sharp looking little unit. I have an afinity for all things Pincor (Pioneer Gen-E-Motor Corp) and am always trying to find more of their products for my collection. I have a Blue Diamond hand drill, circular saw, hedge trimmer, a couple of military radio dynamotor units and about 40 of their various engines.
If you need an owners manual for the engine, I have reprints available.
E-mail me if interested.

Just a shot in the dark here, but I would say the HI and LO are the main output of the generator with CHG to charge a battery. If the engine will run use a good multi-meter and measure the voltages at the terminals. Measure from the frame of the generator to LO, CHG and HI. I would guess from the from to LO you may not masure anything as they may be tied together. This can be checked with the ohm meter portion of the meter without the engine running. Frame to CHG I would expect a DC voltage of 7.5 volts to charge a 6 volt battery or 14.5 volt for a 12 volt battery depending on the design. LO to HI would be the main power output and read around 130 to 140 volt AC if this is a AC macnine and you are running it unloaded while using the voltmeter. BE CAREFUL AS THESE THING CAN PRODUCE DANGEROUS VOLTAGES THAT CAN BIT AND HARM YOU.

I think I may have found (with some help - Thank you Andrew) a schematic for your generator.
See if the diagram below matches what you have.

yup this is what i was looking for, thank you John and Andrew, where it shows the high and low charge ie: the resistor, is where they had attached a off and on wall switch, but they had the connection on the wrong side of the push to start switch,(the field side). I used a auto ignition resistor in place of the wall switch and when it starts now it will generate ,I will have to get a 6 volt battery, been using a 12.
Thanks again
Duane
