I have a homemade tandem axle trailer with mobile home axles with now rotten tires. I want to convert to 8 bolt hole Ford pattern and have searched for axle stubs and hubs or hubs to run on the present spindles. I have found 8000 lb complete axle to the tune of about $400.00 which dents my engine budget pretty hard. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

4000 lb axle sets at $400 ain't a bad price really, if it's a complete unit with springs.
If you're handy with a welder you might build your own for a few bucks less. ~M~ |

If they are 3" round axles then all you have to change is the hubs. The inner brng should be a 25580 and the outer may be a 14126. The inside dia of the outer brng I believe is 1.5" and a 6k 8 bolt hub should work. The total cost would be about $400 and the hubs should be available from any trailer outlet. Hope it helps.

Northern hydraulics. Got 6 lug hubs for the 1 3/8 by 1 1/4 spindles for $50 each, and there are 8 lug avaliable also.
