It was great to see a concise listing of Reid serial numbers in G.E.M. this month. Thank you Russ & friends for the work & persistance it took to compile this information. It will be nice for all us Reid fans to finally know the mfg dates of our engines! Hats off to ya!!! Bill Klein

Guess I am missing something. What issue was the list in. I have December 2005 and not in there. Haven't got January 2006 yet.

well,,,i'm a little worried or confused, maybe both, i have a joseph reid that has a serial number of 19587 which i guess would be built in the year that reid was out of business....i sure hope my model engine was not such a lemon that it put the business out?!?!?!

That is just awsome! I have always guesstimated my 15hp Reid's age. I was guessing it was 1912. Now I KNOW its a 1909 model and it was the 20th engine built for that year #4477 Now only if the production dates for Superior Gas Engine Co. would turn up some where.

any Reid number higher than the last on the list is just over the last recorded number on the paperwork known to us. Likely the last of the engines in 1939.

Can anyone tell me what year our 12hp Reid #1867 was build?

Reid engine #1867 was built in 1902
