8 H.P. Case Steam Traction Engine

Last fall (2005) I attended the Lake Region Pioneer Threshermen's Associations show at Dalton, Minnesota, and thought this Case portable engine converted to a traction engine was cute. It's listed as an 8 H.P. Engine No. 30522.
I'll try my luck at "thumbnails" again?!

neat engine. looks like an old engine on a later boiler. too bad it didnt have the original stack. why dont they call it an 18hp

This one looks a lot like the one that we have in our area. Wheels are all covered in rubber, late model type bunkers, castings on the stack and front axle look the same. Step boards are about the same. I believe the one locally came from Minn as well in the early 70's. Does anyone know who built this one ?
