Paul,
I've got one that is throttle governed, re-painted but with original decal. I only have this photo & scan from Wendel's book on FBM It's in a bad place to take more. |

My Eclipse is a hit & miss version...I don't have the bull gear for a pump jack, this was a stand alone engine...The original magneto was made out of some type of "fiberglass" materiel, and wouldn't work half the time, so I substituted a type "J" to make it a good runner...
I sure would like to have a couple of those "FULL MEASURE" yellow decals if someone gets some made ...I would be glad to help with the cost of printing. David M. |

I was thinking of having a mylar or vinyl over lay decal made which are expensive. I would think regular transfer decal would be very very expensive. I'll let you know what I find out. John |

John & Paul Voss, It was snowing & overcast here today. I pulled the Eclipse out where I could get a straight on shot(it's in a portable garage). I dropped my camera in the snow & got a visitor as I was drying it off & ran out of time before dark. I will take the photos but am tied up tomorrow but will try again Wednesday, I promise. |

you guys that are thinking of getting new decals made, google stickerguy. it is a place out of neveda that is really reasonable and i think will do pretty much whatever you want with fast turn around. i use them to get my bands' stickers done all the time. it's worth a shot right?

Here is a straight on photo of the decal. Overall it measures 3" by 5", The red border is about 1/8" thick, the top & bottom lines of script are 1/2" high, the two middle lines are 3/4" high. This one does not appear to be a water transfer type, rather some type of thin glue on.

Here is a photo of ANOTHER version of the Fairbanks-Morse "FULL MEASURE" decal that I would like to have some copies made of, but this is the ONLY one I have seen...And it was on a e-bay engine...Does anyone have a good copy of this decal somewhere?
There is a black & white photo of it in Wendel's FM 100 years book, but not a very good one.David M. |

I have one of these Eclipse's (No. 3???) It is 2 HP and has the pump jack setup. Mine dos not have the original carburetor and has a homemade one. The carb/mixer is of the overflow type; there is an internal pump down below that keeps the mixer full. It is hit and miss; it's fun to watch the exhaust valve "latch" up through a plexiglass cover plate.
The history on this unit is that I bought it from O.H. Hood in Tulare, Ca. The homemade carb. came from the Boajian brothers in Dinuba, Ca. If anyone has the correct carb. and wants to get rid of it, let me know. I looked at Monte Shockman's book here in Boise and the book shows this unit dates to the late thirties or early forties with the rotary mag and all. The serial No. is located on a face below the spark plug and above the magneto. Of course I am still trying to gather additional "book" information on this one. |
