Default HSCS G35 (Hofherr-Schrantz-Clayton-Shuttleworth)

Hi all

Here is a picture of my Hofherr-Schrantz-Clayton-Shuttleworth hot bulb tractor. Today I've mounted steel wheels that I have swopped with the pneumatics that it came with. Originally this type was fitted with steel wheels, but many of them have been converted. Restoration will be a project for next winter!

Best regards
Marcel

Greasehand, thank you, still in need for an injector! How can you see it is one of the first models?

Richard, how are you! I have found it in Hungary, the country where it was built. It came on bad rubbers (not original), and I was lucky enough to find someone who wanted to get rid of the steel wheels! Although the engine is loose, I don't know how it looks like inside! It is on our list of future projects.

Best regards
Marcel

Hello Marcel,
its your radiator and your Zylinder (and exhaust), it must be build 1943 or 1944.
Whats the trouble with your injektor, is it broken or missing?
(injekton pump or injekton nozzle?)

regards Greasehand

Hello Marcel,
I own two HSCS tractors.This is about K 44-48 and 20-22.
The last one is with iron wheels.
Do you know somebody who might be interest in it?

Hi Alan

I presume that you have heated the hot bulb and that the injector and pump are working OK? If so, and the engine has good compression and the inlet ports are OK there is no reason it shouldn't start. The only thing I can think of is that the bulb is full of diesel so the diesel sprayed in by the injector cannot burn. To solve this you can take out either the injector or the plug in the head, and while heating the bulb turn the engine back and forth. The diesel will evaporate and escape through the injector or plug hole. Once the bulb is dry, reassemble everything and it should start.

Let us know how it works out, also, we wouldn't mind seeing a picture or video of it!

Marcel

That is some pretty ornate casting work on the rear rim centers, more than I have seen on most tractors! It's a really neat accent.

Yes,

The back wheels belong to one of the first Romanian UTB tractors, Utos.
