Default "CleanUp" for your WINDOWS computer

Here is a FREE indispensible program for doing all the things you SHOULD be doing to keep your computer clean and running fast.
You can delete temp files and whatnot BUT Windows keeps these same files in multiple locations so unless you are REALLY savvy you won't get them all and your computer gets filled up with useless junk.
This program is automatically installed by a large computer tech service in Wausau, WI, on every machine they work on.
Once downloaded and installed you will get the usual "back up your computer BLAH BLAH BLAH" stuff. If it makes you nervous just create a restore point if you want: Start; Programs; Accessories; System Tools; System Restore and set a new restore point (chances are most of you have NEVER done this anyway)...
Steven R. Gould is well known in computer software developer circles so don't worry!!! If you are running a 64bit system read the caveats.
Go here for more information before installing: http://www.stevengould.org/software/cleanup/faq.html

Get the program HERE: http://www.stevengould.org/software/cleanup/
You WILL be amazed at all the junk residing on your computer----I was and I THOUGHT I ran a clean machine!!!

Yes Phil...........that means you haven't "flushed" your internet history for AGES.
Cleanup ONLY wipes out internet history, cookies and other online drivel which piles up rapidly.
In the OPTIONS tab you can add cookies you want to KEEP.....
Craig

If you click on the icon at the upper left hand corner of the Cleanup window it will tell you EXACTLY what is being removed from your computer..............AND the files being removed are ALL displayed so you can SEE what's going to be deleted.

Even if you do the "clear history" and "delete all offline content" thing in Internet Explorer, Windows keeps this crap in 2 other locations so you are REALLY only clearing out ONE location..........
So IF you are uncomfortable with Cleanup (which I use on BOTH of my computers EVERY day) AT LEAST do the "clear history" and "delete all offline content" thing daily.
