Default Cushman walking tractor

I recently came across a very old walking tractor powered by a 4hp cushman motor works hit and miss style engine. I have never seen such a tractor with cleated track style wheels and huge wooden handles. Must weigh 1000lbs or so. well balanced but no picture yet. anyone ever heard of such a thing and how would I offer a fair price if I don't know anything except I WANT IT!

Default Re: Cushman walking tractor

I have seen a couple of tracked walk behind tractors that were manufactured by the Vaughan Motor Co. of Portland, Oregon. I think they were called the Vaughan Flex-Tred Tractor. The one I saw at a musum in Moose Jaw, Sask was a model WS, serial number 9683. I'm not sure if this one was modified to ride after market, but it has a metal implement seat, wooden foot boards and steering levers. The other one I saw was on Gabriola Island, off the coast of Britsh Columbia in Aug./97. The engines were also manufactured by Vaughan Motor Co. I have pictures of these, but no scanner. I could get these scanned elsewhere and forward if you would like.
