Default Big Stover by Barn

The weather was great today Sunday Feb.12. Sunny and cool, just perfect to chase down leads on old iron. About a 2 hour drive from home and visiting with several farmers about old one lung engines, me and my favorite camera lady(my wife so no one gets the wrong idea)came across this 10HP Stover sunk in the ground up against an old barn. Its that shot of adrenalin you get when finding one of these old relics that is so addicting .I know alot of you know the feeling! Anyway, hope you all enjoy the photos and they encourage more collectors to share their finds here. Thanks----John

Hi Tanner--One thing finding it,another thing aquiring it! Most this stuff is still out there because the owner has an attachment of memories to it. In this particular find the old farmer remembers it chugging and popping when he was a kid and watching his father running it. It has been sitting by that old barn for over 75 years so it is a landmark to him and a reminder of earlier years.Hopefully I will have a chance at it someday. Would like to get it running without disturbing the moss that is growing on it! I will give you a call when I need some help lifting old iron.---John
