Just a note to say that I made it through cataract surgery this morning. I've been told that it's just as easy as getting a tooth filled, But I'll go for the dentist thank you. Everything went fine except that I had to have "hooks" put in to keep the iris open while the lens was swapped out. Just a PITA or PITE as this case may be.

It's all over and I go back in the morning to find out if I can be driving again. At least I can see out of it, although it's cloudy for now and fully dilated.

I need these eyeballs to keep this SmokStak machine a smokin! Welcome me to the era of guzzardom. I even have a set of guzzard sunglasses now. No Flywheelers show for me, but I do hope to make it to the Zolfo Springs show.

Harry, glad to hear everything went ok.i had cataract surgery about 6 months ago, left eye first and about 3 weeks later had right eye done. What a difference didnt realize how much I was missing.I really enjoy your site, your doing one heck of a job keeping everything running so smoothly.Take it easy for awhile and give those peepers time to heal.

The very best to you Harry. Had mine done a few years back. Was great and the second time was a piece of cake. Had to back the next day for a check up, forgot that I wasn't suppose to drive, but i made anyhow. The next day there was show so I grabbed my grandsons to do the lifting, they alway worry about grandpa, and enjoyed the engine show. Hope your eye jobs work out as well as mine. I hate the dentist, just the high pitch sounds of the drills make my teeth hurt.

good luck Harry, hope you get well soon.

Best wishes for a complete and speedy recovery,HARRY. We will all know when you are back with perfect vision and proof reading, because you are a very good speller. We will gladly overlook your present spelling errors. I wouldn't be any better after having the eyeballs worked on, and when I go to my dentist I tell him nix the novacane, because it is much easier to endure a few brief moments of drilling pain and have it all overwith, than having a gummy mouth after. I enjoy this great website and all the contributors. Get well soon!

Thanks guys. When I had to sign a paper that said, "if they couldn't get the replacement lens to stay in place, I would have to leave without a lens", I wasn't very enthused. Just a part of the "CYA" paperwork that they do now days. Looks like it's working!

Well Harry, I Wish you a speedy recovery and hope everything goes well. Sounds like I might be in for the same thing after a while and I'm not looking forward to it at all... Never did like Doctors or Dentists for that matter..

Harry think of it this way, in a few days, you'll be able to check out sweet young things in thongs. As long as you don't say anything, the wife won't realize yer checkin them thongs out.
You may even be elidgible for free glasses & sunglasses under your NY retirement insurance.
It's gotta be a lot easier than a bypass job.

Good luck.

It comes with the years, unfortunately, but very glad you came through OK. It will take a while to sort itself out but should be OK after a week or so.

You're right. Put in context, that makes it like a trip to the dentist.
