Default Automatic Windmill Shut-off

I have an automatic windmill shut-off made by the Enterprise Windmill Company, Sandwich Illinois. If anyone has any information on these things, or information pertaining to the Enterprise Co, I would be interested. Not really certain how this works, and would love to be able to explain it to people when they ask. Any help would be appreciated.

Does it have the "quarter moon" windmill weight with it? You slide that weight up or down the bar to adjust when to take the windmill out of the wind. If the wind is blowing to much you don't want to tear up your windmill and this device folds the tail to the side and shuts the windmill down until the wind decreases.

No, there is'nt a weight on it. What you say makes sense, but I was under the impression that this unit was attached to a float in the tank, and would pull in the tail as the tank filled up. I have been hoping to find someone to explain how it worked, but haven't had much feedback so far.

The AERMOTER CO OF CHICAGO had a float system shut off. It was atteched to the tower and had a arm that was hooked to the pump pole that would ratchet the shut off wire tighter untill the brake was set. when the water level went down the float would release the brake wire and the windmill would turn into the wind and start pumping again.
