I'm wanting to model a small cord saw and am having trouble finding pictures of the units clear enough to build the mechanism. Any pictures will be appreciated and I may even post a picture when I'm done. LOL Fred

Well its the best pic I have so I made some marks on it to highlite the tilt table. Youre right, some of the buzz saws do have the tilting table, some also had a sliding table. If you look at Rick Strobel's album of his Gal Sawrig youll see the slider. On my picture you can see where the tilting frame attaches on the far side and it also attaches to the near side but its not in the pic. The log would sit on the table, designated by the X's and then be pushed into the blade. There is also a chain that im pointing to with the arrow that holds the table from coming too far towards the operator and putting it in the loading position. You also might be able to find some better pics searching under Buzz Saw.

This is a picture of my Ferguson AL-19 cordwood saw being run off of my 1947 Ford 2N that belonged to my grandfather. It is running in the picture. Even though it is tractor mounted, the priciples of operation are basically the same on just about all cordwood saws. On mine, the table which the wood rests on is hinged at the bottom and two springs keep the table pushed away from the blade. To cut the wood, you physically push the table into the saw blade (the table stops just short of the side of the saw so you're not actually cutting into the table). On several other tractor mounted saws and on many engine type saws, instead of being hinged, the wood table slid back and forth on tracks kinda like a kitchen drawer. I hope this helps explain how they work!

I recently purchased a cordsaw with powered by a 4 cyclinder air cooled wisconsin engine. The blade is 32 inches in diameter. The wood lays in a rack a the rack pivots at the bottom and feeds the wood through the blade. Chains only allow the rack to move so far. I am not good at inserting pics but will e-mail them if an address becomes available
