Default Maytag identification

I recently picked up an old maytag engine, problem is the ID plates are missing & I cant find a serial number. I was told it is a model 31 hit & miss with rare side exaust, & it has a bosch mag under the flywheel. Is there any way to be sure what engine this is so I know what parts I need? Shouldnt there be a number in the casting somewhere I might have missed? Any help appreciated.

The serial number is stamped on the edge of the flywheel ( flat side). A model 31 refers to the model of washing machine. Yours is probably a model 92 engine.
