Default Need help Challenge burr mill

I have a Challenge mill that I bought in peices. From what I can tell It's missing the flywheel and the ecentric for the shaker. Does any one have a pic from a catalog or of a mill they can share with me. Also can anyone tell me the dia. of the flywheel? Maybe I can find something close. It was also missing the shaft and pully but I had these in the parts pile. Thanks in advance. Greg.

Here's a few pics of the challenge grinder I have. Let me know what info you need and I'll try and help. The grinder is up on a shelf so the pics are not the best

Doug

I checked my 3 Challenge catalogs (#54, 82, 92) and they do not have your style of grinder shown. Looking at the design of it, I am guessing that it is an earlier version. I will check next time I do some research at the Batavia Historical Society.

not sure about the shaft size, but the flywheel looks as if you could make something reasonbly close from a flywheel from some of the Blacksmith style post-drills. Don't remember if the Champion Blower & Forge or the Cannedy-Otto drills had the round flywheels or if both had them. Just a thought.

Hi Doug, Thanks for the pics of your mill. Thats a nice one.I could go with a round flywheel but I think this one had a flat rimed flywheel. The bore would be 1 1/4" and I'm guessing about 24" dia. Thanks, Greg.
