Default JD Magneto

I can only get a sporadic spark out of this mag even though it has a real strong magnetic pull, so I removed the leadout tower to clean the brush and removed the front cover to see how much crud was inside, I noticed that there is a small spring in a hole inside the cover, It looks like there is suppose to be a brush in there that rides against the ring?, any ideas what I could use to replace it? what would this brush be for like a ground? Thanks Rob.

Rob-
Yes, it IS a ground brush. A new one is available from Starbolt Engine Supplies. Go to the sponsors page and their contact information can be found there, or- wait until their banner ad cycles through and click on it.

Look carefully inside mag - you do not want that brush becoming jambed within the mag internal parts!
