I have a mig blackhawk 220 welder that i recently bounght and i am having some problems with it . It seems like the welder loses ground because it still feeds but doesn't weld but every now and then you will hear a click and it will work again. anyone know the problem?

Does this happen after you've been continuously welding for awhile? If so, are you exceeding the duty cycle and tripping the breaker inside?

We don't have any Blackhawk welders, but have a bunch of older Miller MM200's. We've had the same thing happen on a few of the machines.
Every time it was the contactor block. It's the solenoid activated electrical connection that supplys welding power to the gun. They were easily replaceable.

Don't know if that's your problem, but a place to start.

Good luck !

As a side note, the contacts were able to be sanded with a bit of emery cloth and get the machine to function till the new block arrived.

Again, good luck !
