Default "German Designed Chinese Made" diesel engine

This is actually an old engine question even though it makes reference to newly manufactured engines. The newly made Chinese made horizontal diesel engines (Changfa as an example) have been referred to as “German designed, Chinese made”. Is this an old German design, and if so, where might I find information about the original designs, makers, sizes, years of manufacture etc? Many thanks in advance,

Deutz MAH series would be a good start, also copied during WWII by Uniporn in the UK.

I have found they also copy Japanese engines like the Yanmar (NT)65K and they even have the original name used in there photo names!!

They copy all they can that may look and work good and make them a box form copy. They work but butt ugly. Not sure about then material quality but then what you expect…

Guess they do what the Japanese did but forget that the Japanese early on tried to improve (not always working).

Also to note that some other counters like Korea and such also make that kind of …. Stuff.

I think a lot of "German" inspired Chinese diesel engines have a design with principles invented by "Rudolph Diesel", a German.
