Hi Guys

The Estevan show is coming up on October 14 & 15. So I thought I would add a few more photos from previous shows. All aspects of Home Shop work is welcome at the show. Casting, shop tools and attachments, steam and gas engines etc..... as long as it is hand made.

This one is of a JD G. This fellow has also built two other tractors in the same scale. Although they do not run they are fine looking models.

A Quincy.

A case built from Coles castings.

And a Silver Angel.

Thanks

I am experimenting here. If all goes well you should be able to click on the link and view a short video of the 3 Cylinder Fairbanks and generator in action at this years show.

Thumbs up Re: Estevan Model Engineering Show

The engine show at Jacktown (Blue Mtn) had a good model engine turn out today, in fact the entire show was well attended! There were so many models today that the entire shed was full, and there were just as many model exhibiters set up outside as in

Question Re: Estevan Model Engineering Show

Kelly,
Do you know who built the blue Quincy model, in your photos? Quite a few years ago, I helped Dick Shelley get one running, that he had built. The poor guy had brought it to the jacktown show, to show it to other builders, and could not get it started (it was the first time he had tried to start it). He must have tried for two hours, and all he could get was an occasional pop out the intake. I asked him if he was going to sell it (I could see he was getting frustrated), and I offered him $100 bucks for it. he told me "If you're so smart - lets see you start it!" I rolled the engine over once thru 2 turns, and told him the timing was off, and the gear was opening the exhaust valve way too late. I helped him re-time it, and on the first turn, it fired off and ran perfectly. You should have seen his face, like a kid in a candy shop, with a fist full of money!!! We became good friends after that, and I have in fact bought several of his museum quality models (although I never did find out what the Quincy went for).

Hi Andrew

The Blue Quincy was built by Lowell Wood from Minneapolis Minn. He displays regularly at Rollag and has made the drive up to Estevan (by himself) the last four years......I believe he turned 92 this year!
