Question Need Shaft seal on RE-7 Champion Air compressor and some.

I have a 1949 Champion RE-7 air compressor with a bad shaft seal. The factory shows that its obsolete and has "NO" informantion on this model pump except they made them between 1936 and 1956!

Does any one have a source for new old stock parts (seal and gasket set) for this unit. I think that it very closely resembles the R-10 and R-15 models, just don't know what all the differences are.

Hope to find someone who has worked on this model. I don't know PSI / CFM's or even have a manual.

Thanks for reading,

Gary

If you have the old seal it helps, take it to a local parts store and match it up.Also measure the shaft and hole the seal goes into. They should be able to find a replacement.I've done this before and have had no problems....

Well the good news is that I've actually found a shop that has the manual, gasket set, and a shaft seal, having all sent to me.

Thanks for the help all.

RAM...just a word of advice.....when you get it back together again do NOT use DETERGENT OIL!!!!!!!!
We sold a customer a new compressor and the instructions SAID to use detergent oil. I even CALLED and ASKED them and they said that was correct. Well...........that was news to ME................BUT our customer followed their directions.
Within a month it was JUNK.....ate itself to pieces.
I called the company AGAIN.....THIS time they told me the instructions were WRONG..........AND replaced the compressor.
