I will be there Friday and Sat. Rain doesn't usually effect the show part of the field. It can get a tad muddy in the spectator parking area. I am sure by this time the show area is dry and hard.
See you all there

I'll Be there early Saturday, I am only about 20 Minutes away from this show, this is my only really close engine show. I only found out about this show about 3 years ago. I will try to wear my Stak Button this year.

Ernie,
I saw your engine, It was very nice, someday I hope to get one as well.
I saw a couple Stakers, it was a good show , one I wait for every year.
I saw a couple rare engines on the field, a friend of mine brought a Fluted Areo-Motor, I also saw an Atlantic a small side shaft engine which I have never seen before. I saw 1 1/2 Fairbanks Plug Oscillator, which is real rare as Fairbanks go, since they were only made for 6 months in 1919. It was a nice day for an engine show, nice weather a little warm but at least it wasn't raining.
I picked up a Bolens Power-Hoe with a Briggs PB, it even have the original Bolens Air Cleaner. My Father and I bought a nice 3/4 Associated Pony Motor and a Horizontal Nelson Brothers engine.

Hi Doug;
My name is Dan Dorece and I live in Kenosha WI. I collect WI built engines. I just learned yesterday that Keller, Gillette Rubber built engines tagged Archer. If I could be so nosey, just what are the Archers you are picking up?

i was not pleased with the fact that some people with there motor homes and trailers in tow takeing 5 & 6 parking spots. bernardston has grown quite a bit and is a nice show to visit and display your item. management is going to have to find a way to limit some of these big rigs specially when all they are displaying is a briggs eng. lets face it they dont need that kinda space for a lawn mower eng. i got there at 8 am sat morn and had a hard time getting a space, and i heard griping from other people looking for spots.
just my 2 cents dick-ct

Dick,
I got there Friday noon & it was filling up pretty fast then. I went to register Saturday morning at 8:00 AM but was told that they don't open for business until 9 AM. I came back at 8:59 by my watch & was told again that they don't open until 9. I said well I thought I could wait one minute until 9, but one(of the 3 or 4) of the grouchy ladies that had been sitting there all along said "not by my watch". After thinking it over for about 10 seconds I decided I did not want a ribbon & button or to make a contribution that badly and left without registering or donating although I stayed at the show until Saturday evening. Maybe the heat & humidity contributed to both our peevishness.

Yes the show field was pretty full when we got there about 7:15 am Sat, and yes the registration "booth" was a bit trying but it was still a lot of fun. What suprised me was how many folks were pulling out by 3:00-3:30 pm Sat.

Slamming the campers is an exaggeration. All the campers I recall had the best displays, including a St Mary's side shaft, and other rare items. A crew cab pickup and a trailer takes about much room as a camper and a trailer. Its not 5 spaces! All the shows in new england fill up friday night. I though the bernerdston turnout was lighter than usual due to rain forcasts. I did not see some regulars like the otto's and ohio that usually attend. Only one guy down from canada, maybe gas prices? The flea mkt area looked a little light too.

dave,

You did not mention the interesting part. The coffee grinder was a Fairbanks Morse! I think its good thing that people are forbidden from setup on thursday. If you allow that, then you end up with a coolspring senario where the show is over before the weekend when it is scheduled. The big show next month in Orange is the same story. If you show up thurdsay it damn well better be to help prepare the grounds, and not trying to sneak an early bird setup. Thats straight off the club news letter.

The show was great.
I agree with the commets about big motor homes and Briggs or Maytags. However as we age we tend to gravitate to samller items. Or bigger ones that don't move from the trailer they are bolted to. Also as we age the chances of us owning a Motor Home get better. We can't forget that a lot of these folks started the hobby that we all enjoy. No I don't own a motor home. My camper is only 14 feet long.
As to space...
The flea market seemed smaller, yes it did.
Why would a fleamarketer want to pay for a spot when he can protray himself as an exhibitor and pay nothing. The guy across from me had at least 4 tables of junk. All rusty, however nothing there to fit in the exhibitor mode. After looking around the show field there were quite a few junk sellers that should have been in the flea market not wasting valuable exhibitor space.
