Does anyone know where to get a 3/16-40 and 1/4-40 Model Taper Pipe Tap's? I am working on an...

Does anyone know where to get a 3/16-40 and 1/4-40 Model Taper Pipe Tap's? I am working on an Economy Model and need these taps.

I think those taper pipe taps are proprietary items of Coles'. You can usually substitute straight thread pipe with little problem.

I did find them on Model Engineering Society's website, but there about $30 a piece. Listed as Model Taper Pipe.

I bought mine from Coles power models out in California. I heard they have changed hands but I don't know their new address.

Try American Model Engineering Supply www.americanmodeleng.com They sell them for sure.

You could also try Tiny Power www.tinypower.com

PM Research's, and Stuart's are straight thread, not taper. As I said, they will work.
