bean spray pump


just aquired a bean spray pump,to the best of my knowledge it was an orchard sprayer.engine is...

Default bean spray pump

just aquired a bean spray pump,to the best of my knowledge it was an orchard sprayer.engine is missing,wondering what engine was used to power this thing?top of the pump says,BEAN SPRAY PUMP CO SAN JOSE CAL.PATENT NOV 5 89 AUG 9 04 L5 MAGIC NO 10.looking for any info on this pump.any help appreaciated.will try to post picture.

Why not contact a John Bean Pump rep? They are still made. Based on the numbers you posted, it is not that old. My brother worked at a pump company for several years, and as late as the 1990s, they were able to provide parts for Bean pumps from at least as early as the 1930s, that I know of. And it hardly looked any different than the ones sold now. I bet if you called one of the Bean reps, they could help you.

If I was going to suggest the current analog to what you have, it would be the DM-10, which are engine-driven. I suppose the DM stands for "Driven Magic", meaning it is a version of the Magic pump that is engine-driven. Just speculation, of course. See the current DM lineup here:

If that DM list is any guide, you would use an 8HP engine on your pump.
