Default Another Ebay story

Hi Guys (and Gals) Just thought I would pass this on. a couple of weeks ago I sold and item on Ebay for $1200.00 Item bought paid for shipped and feedback left both ways! Last nite I got an email from the underbidder asking where his item was that he had sent the money 2 weeks ago and would have expected it by now. I contactet that guy and seems that he got cought up in one of them 2nd chance scams! It is good that we keep this kind of activity in fron of everyone's faces. I really feel bad for this guy. He sent the money to England! I would have thought that would have raised a red flag to him. I pllainly listed item location in Harvard MA. Not everyone looks at thease posts and there are a lot of new people checking them out everyday. So I am sorry for thoes of you that have seen this kind of post on here 1000 times but for thoes of you that have not, WATCH OUT and be smart when it comes to Ebay! And as much as I really don't like the thought of it that much This could make me re think making my auctions privet just so this can't happen again on one of my sales. Mike O

I start to think that it might be smart if Ebay would stop the 2nd chance system.
It seems to do more harm than then good to every seller’s name and Ebay’s name.
I know that people should use their common sense more but still some will slip.
As one historical (maybe mythical) person tolled “ humanity wants to be deceived” and I slowly start to think he is right.

just my 2 cent's

I saw a $14,000 Ferris ZTR mower the other night with only a $200 bid and not many hours left to go. I figured something was fishy, but it was located in a little town just two hours from me. I told my wife we would watch it. Not much risk if you don't have to send money- just show up on the doorstep with a check, pick up the mower and go.
Well in a few minutes, the mower disappeared and then I found it again... in Los Angeles. Same ad because the seller's "other items for sale" were identical! At that point I knew it was a scam but bid on it just to be able to track it. Soon Ebay sent me an email saying that someone was using this guy's account fraudulently. They pulled the ad, but a few days later it was right back. I guess they have too much cyber space to be able to police everything effectively. Kevin

the one i love the most is Ebay cancles the Auction on the item your bidding on and they wont tell you why. This just happened to me on a tractor that i was the high bidder . And the thing is that it was close to me and when i buy stuff i pay for it when i pick it up.
And just last week Ebay emailed me to see why i havent been bidding on stuff like i use to.

If you're unsure about a second chance ebay offer you can go to your "My ebay" page and look for a message. If the offer is legitimate there will be a message from the seller in your ebay in box. As far as I know the scammers haven't found a way to put a message into your ebay in box.

I've had a couple of second chance offers that looked fishy so I contacted the seller listed (still the original seller) and was told that, just as I figured, there was no second chance offer.
