XXXXSR3AXX There should be some ID on there somewhere, otherwise look for the injection pump type label and give me the information off that instead, should be able to ID the engine if it is a Bryce or CAV pump. Peter |

There Is A Id# Of C154sr3z18
There Is Not An Injection Pump. There Is A 24 Volt Electric Pump A Fuel Bowl And A Fuel Pre-heater. There Is A Fuel Filter And Two Oil Filters. Three Valve Covers Stamped Monarch And Compression Releases On The Side. If It Would Help I Could Post Pictures Thanks Again |

There are individual injection pumps under the air cowlings, they are BPF1A CAV or the equivalent Bryce model. There is a linkage between them which goes to the governor lever. The engine number breaks down to: C - CKD or part-built engine (Monarch supplied a lot of the panels etc) 154 - Serial number of your engine sr - Engine Type 3 - Number of cylinders z - reverse rotation for the USA market 18 - Year of manufacture = 1968 (add the number to 1950) We probably have a manual that we can get information from for you, but cannot supply copies unfortunately. These books come up on ebay quite regularly, and Abe Books have a few listed most weeks. The SR3 was made in big numbers and most spares are probably still available from Lister-Petter agents. It is an SR3 you need to ask about, don't ask for Monarch spares. Hope this helps. Peter |

Yes, it's "basically" an SR3, but not all the parts are the same.
Go to the Lister-Petter website. There is a page there specifically about these Monarchs. Basically CONDEC, or "Consolidated Diesel Electric" in Connecticut bid on a bunch of military contracts during the Vietnam era, which required a certain % of "US content". So they cut a deal with LP, and set up a fake engine company called "Monarch" to rebadge the LP's. The rocker-covers are different (squared instead of rounded); and the oil pump/relief is supposed to be different. Also, there is word that the jerks used a NON-standard flywheel housing....so the regular SAE things like gen-heads won't bolt up. Otherwise, it's just another great LP engine. I've had several of these in various gensets and just love 'em. GREAT starters....even at 15F and no ether. Fire right up within 3-4 revolutions. Fire almost instantly in the summer. Lister-Diesel: Do you have manuals on the old mil. gensets? I've been searching literally for YEARS for a full set of schematics for mine. I would GLADLY pay for a clear xerox of the schematics for the circuit boards. Mine is a PU-667, and although the engine and gen-head are great, the regulator and control is a freaking nightmare of 1960's discrete "early semiconductor" type stuff. The thing runs great, but several of the PCB's need work...it won't govern properly. If you could possibly be kind enough to help out with schematics, please Email me directly at: metal at fullwave doooooot com or call me at 541-944-9746 after 1pm PST. thanks very much! Richard |
