There is a table of water tank sizes and capacities in the Technical section of our website, but it doesn't give specific details for the J.

Water capacities varied with the ambient temperature, so one for Oz would be larger than the UK for example.

Book 26 lists tanks and dimensions for 3hp to 9hp petrol and petrol/paraffin engines as follows:

3hp paraffin - 5hp petrol EXCEPT petrol & gas, 23" diameter 47" high
3hp - 4hp petrol & gas 23" diameter 33" high
5hp paraffin 30" diameter 48" high
6hp petrol 30" diameter 48" high
7hp petrol & gas 30" diameter 48" high
7hp paraffin 30" diameter 66" high
9hp petrol & gas 30" diameter 66" high
9hp paraffin 30" diameter 66" high
Type N and Type R engines have the 30" X 66" tanks.
Distance between the pipe inlets and outlets varies, but they all finish well below the top of the tank, so these are not actual water capacity sizes.

When I get a minute I'll include the pictures and dimensions on the website.

Peter

Are you on DSL or broadband at home? I can scan the pages and email them if you are in a hurry, otherwise I'll probably do it on the weekend and put them on the website.

Hello,
I have the specs. for the J water tank. It is 33 inches tall and 23 inches in diameter. This info comes from an original Lister manual on STANDARD FIXING ARRANGEMENT.
