Hi,
I bought a Maytag upright engine two weeks ago at an auction. It is a battery coil version and appears to be complete and unmolested. It has a fair amount of Maytag geeen paint on it yet, whether it is original green paint or it was repainted somewhere alone the line is unclear. Where do I find the serial number to determine its age. The only number I can find is a casting number on the bottom side of the base. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You, Jim Metzger |

Jim,
The serial number should be stamped on the rim of the flywheel. If it was repainted it may be very difficult to see they were sometimes stamped very lightly. |
